I am a self taught potter/artist. I've
been working with clay since 1995.
My work is primarily wheel thrown
stoneware and slab work.
I had no interest in working with clay
until I got job in the shipping
department of a Clay manufacturer. I
was amazed by all the possibilities,
how limitless working with clay Is.
I've working with it, obsessively at
times, ever since producing both
decorative and functional works .I
also do low fired works,
approximately 1800 degrees, using an
electric kiln with a Terra Sigillata
finish for the first firing. The finishing
touches are done by smoking the
pieces in a trash can with newspaper.
It is a very simple but effective
process.
